Someone returning to the gym after months away and battling the voice that says it has been too long. Someone who wants to get back into training but keeps finding reasons not to start.

The mind is where sport is won and lost far more often than most people realise. And it is also where some of the most powerful work can happen.

WHO I WORK WITH

I work with people across the full spectrum of sport and physical activity, from those stepping into exercise for the first time to those preparing for serious competition. What they have in common is that the mental side of their performance has become something that is getting in the way.

That might look like:

  • Doubt and negative self-talk before or during training or competition

  • Performance anxiety that affects your results or enjoyment

  • Returning to training after injury, illness, or a long break

  • Preparing mentally for a significant event or goal, from a first 5k to a Hyrox competition

  • A sport where a calm, focused mind is everything, golf, archery, swimming, running

  • The gap between what you know you can do in training and what shows up on the day

  • Fear of failure, or sometimes fear of success

WHAT I HELP WITH

I work with a range of sleep difficulties including:

  • Difficulty falling asleep, often with a busy or racing mind

  • Waking in the early hours and being unable to get back to sleep

  • Shallow or unrefreshing sleep that leaves you exhausted regardless of hours

  • Sleep disruption linked to anxiety, stress, or burnout

  • Menopause-related sleep disturbance

  • A longstanding pattern of poor sleep that has become your normal

WHAT TO EXPECT

I use Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Rapid Solution Therapy (RST), visualisation, and anchoring techniques to help you build the mental state that your performance needs. We work on quietening the noise, strengthening belief, and helping your unconscious mind associate competition, training, or physical challenge with capability rather than threat.

 

We may even using EMDR to clear any past beliefs around past experiences that are still keeping you back.

This is not about pumping you up with false positivity. It is about clearing the interference so that the genuine ability you already have can come through.

WHAT THE SESSIONS COVER

Sports mindset work is often more focused and shorter than other areas of hypnotherapy. Many clients see significant results in four to six sessions, particularly when working toward a specific event or goal. For those with deeper performance anxiety or more complex patterns, a slightly longer course of work may be beneficial.
