What does my heart need to hear so I can embrace gratitude in my life?

Our theme for September is Gratitude. Something that appears so easy yet for most it can be a tricky process to follow.

I received a quiet nudge to pull some cards to share with you all and not one but two cards from each pack flew out. Which then wanted to be put into two groups.

So take a look below, take a nice deep breath and see which pile you are drawn to as you ask the question:

WHAT DOES MY HEART NEED TO HEAR SO I CAN EMBRACE GRATITUDE IN MY LIFE?

Pile 1
Pile 1
Pile 2
Pile 2

Pile 1 - Blue Sodalite

This pile sits with Sodalite, a stone known for calm, clear communication and reconnecting you with your own inner truth. It's often reached for when the mind is noisy and what's needed is a moment of honest clarity.

The first card is Ask. So many of us have quietly learned to manage everything alone, including our own feelings, as if needing support were something to prove we didn't require. This card pushes back gently on that. The message is simple: support is always closer than it feels, but it doesn't arrive uninvited. Free will means you're always the one who opens the door. Your heart doesn't need to prove it deserves gratitude before it's allowed to feel it. It just needs permission to ask for help feeling it, whether that's a quiet request in your own mind, a line in your journal, or simply saying it out loud.

Alongside it sits Swan, Graceful Transformation. Swans move across water with so little visible effort that it's easy to forget how much work is happening beneath the surface. That's the invitation here, to stop gripping so tightly at the process. Gratitude doesn't need to be forced into existence through sheer will. This card asks you to soften your heart, loosen your hold, and let the feeling find its own natural flow, the way it does when nothing is standing in its way.

Put together, Sodalite, Ask and Swan tell one continuous story. Sodalite asks you to get honest about what you actually need. Ask reminds you that support is already available and simply waiting for your request. Swan then shows you how to receive it, not by pushing harder, but by softening enough to let it move through you naturally. If you were drawn to blue, your heart may need to hear: ask clearly, then let it come to you gently, gratitude doesn't have to be earned through effort.

Pile 2 - Nguni Jasper

This pile sits with Nguni Jasper, a grounding stone associated with comfort, stability and a sense of belonging, the feeling of being steady enough in yourself to hold whatever comes up.

The first card is Acceptance. This isn't about liking everything or pretending things are fine when they're not, it's about allowing what's actually here to simply be here, without the extra layer of judgement we so often add on top. Resistance to our own circumstances, or to ourselves, is one of the quiet ways gratitude gets blocked. It's hard to feel thankful for a life, or a version of yourself, that you're still arguing with. Acceptance clears that argument, and unconditional love, for yourself and everyone around you, is what's left in its place.

Alongside it sits Eagle, Ancestral Healing. Eagles fly high enough to see the whole landscape at once, which is fitting here, because this card asks you to look wider than your own lifetime. Some of what blocks our gratitude was never ours to begin with, it's inherited, patterns of scarcity or not-enoughness passed down long before we had any say in the matter. This card is a reminder that you're not doing that healing work alone. There's support behind you, holding space for the old pattern to finally soften.

Put together, Nguni Jasper, Acceptance and Eagle also tell one continuous story. Nguni Jasper grounds you enough to stay present with what's real. Acceptance asks you to stop resisting it. Eagle then widens the view, showing you that some of what you're releasing isn't even personal, it's generational. If you were drawn to orange, your heart may need to hear: accept what's here first, and trust that healing the old story makes room for the new one, you're not carrying it alone.

Wherever You Landed

Both piles point back to the same root. Gratitude isn't something to force or fake. It's something that arrives once we ask for support, soften into acceptance, and let go of what was never ours to carry in the first place.

This ties straight into September's theme, Golden & Grateful. If this reading resonated, the free Gratitude Workbook is a lovely way to keep sitting with it over the next seven days.

Hope this reading brought you some insight. Sending you all the love as you journey through 'Gratitude'.

With love,
