How to Hear Your Intuitive Voice

(When You’ve Been Living in Your Head)

We’ve been taught to look outside of ourselves for answers. To gather the facts, weigh up the pros and cons, and make the right choice. It’s how school taught us to think: Logic first, feelings later.

But what if your truest guidance doesn’t come from your head at all?

What if there’s another kind of knowing. A knowing that is softer, quieter, but deeply wise. A knowing that has been waiting patiently underneath the noise?

What Is the Intuitive Voice?

Your intuitive voice isn’t a mystical power that only a few people have. It’s the quiet, grounded knowing that lives within everyone. Your intuitive voice is a deep sense of “this feels right” or “something’s off,” even when you can’t explain why.

It’s the feeling that tells you to take the long way home, to reach out to someone, to say yes… or no.

It lives in your body, your chest (heart centre) not your thinking mind.

When you’re calm and centred, it speaks easily. When you’re stressed, overwhelmed, or burnt out, that voice becomes muffled beneath all the noise of “Shoulds” and “Musts.”

Why We Lose Touch with It

Most of us have spent years, even decades, learning to override what we feel. We have been praised for being logical, productive, efficient. We have learnt that rest is lazy, that slowing down means falling behind.

But when we live constantly in our heads, the signals of your body, your intuition, get drowned out.The nervous system moves into a state of survival, not connection. When we’re in survival mode, our brain is scanning for danger, not wisdom. It cannot hear the whisper of intuition because it is too busy trying to keep us safe.

Reconnecting: Moving from Head to Heart

The first step in hearing your intuition again isn’t about doing more. It’s about creating the conditions for listening. Your intuitive voice lives in stillness, in the pause between breaths. She lives in the quiet moments before you respond, in the exhale after a long day.

Through practices like Reflexology, Reiki, and hypnotherapy, we help the body come back into homeostasis.

To return to the state of internal balance where healing and awareness naturally happen. When the nervous system settles, the fog lifts. Thoughts slow down. And that quiet inner knowing, the one that’s been there all along. The knowing begins to rise to the surface again.

So many of us are searching for the quick fix, the one thing that will shift everything overnight. But this reconnection isn’t a race. It is a remembering. It happens softly, over time, as you strengthen that muscle of trust and begin to hear your own voice again.

The one you had when you were little.

What It Feels Like to Hear Your Intuition

Your intuition rarely shouts unless of course your Intuitive Spleen is giving you a warning (But that is more of a firm voice than a shoouty one).

Your intuitive voice often feels like a gentle nudge, a calm certainty, a subtle warmth in your body.

It might sound like:

  • “This feels right.”

  • “I don’t know why, but I need to go there.”

  • “This doesn’t feel like me.”

You might notice it as a pull toward something, or a contraction that asks you to pause. The more you listen, the clearer it becomes. You can also run your Human Design if you would like to create a deeper understanding with how your own individual decision making messages move through your body. A Simple Practice

Try this:

  • Take a slow breath in through your nose.

  • Pause for a moment.

  • Exhale gently.

  • Feel your feet on the ground.

Now ask yourself softly: What do I need right now? Or one of my favourites What does my heart need right now?

Then wait. Don’t rush to answer with your mind. Notice what you feel in your body.

A sense of ease? Expansion? Tightness? Resistance?

That’s your intuitive language beginning to speak.

The Return to Inner Guidance

Learning to trust your intuition isn’t about abandoning logic. It’s about weaving it together with a deeper form of wisdom; one that honours your body, emotions, and energy.

Your intuitive voice isn’t something you have to find. It’s something you return to. It’s been there all along, waiting for the noise to soften.

And when you begin to listen, truly listen, life starts to flow differently.

Decisions become lighter.Synchronicities appear. And you begin to realise that you are already your own best guide.

Affirmation for this month:

“I trust that what I feel is as important as what I think. I move through life guided by both logic and intuition and I am learning to listen to the quiet wisdom within.”
