The Summer Solstice marks the longest day and shortest night; a tipping point in the year when the sun stands still before its slow retreat. It's a time to pause and witness the fullness of life, to honour the abundance all around us and within us.
Celebration and Rituals for Summer Solstice
Spend moments in nature: feel sunshine on bare skin, walk barefoot in grass, stand in a field.
Light a candle or bonfire with intention. Let go of what no longer serves and offer gratitude for what you’ve grown.
Gather with friends or alone, bring seasonal flowers, berries or fruits to honour earth’s bounty.
Symbolism of the Solstice
The sun at its peak reminds us of our own vitality and presence.
Golden fields and longest daylight reflect the generous harvest of our inner and outer lives.
This is the season of fullness, celebration, connection.
Spiritual Meaning
Drawing the Queen Archetype, we are called to embody grace, courage, resolve and stillness. We are invited to settle into our power with patience, to flow generously from our hearts without grasping, and to trust divinity cradles us.
Rituals to Support You
Journalling: What abundance is calling to me right now?
Movement: Dance to honour your body in nature.
Meditation: visualise sunshine filling every cell with gold light.
Gather together with others: Sharing food and conversation
Supporting yourself Through seasonal shifts
Transitional phases can stir the nervous system and bring both excitement and overwhelm.
Reiki supports smooth energetic integration, promotes emotional clarity and invites a surrender to seasonal flow.
Reflexology reduces stress, balances systems and helps you feel present in your body as the season changes.
If you’d like to support your system during the Solstice and into the longer season ahead, you can book a session here. I offer in-person sessions in Wantage, Oxfordshire and online options too.
Journal Questions to Support Inner Reflection
What do I want to harvest in my life right now?
Where can I settle into deeper trust and stillness?
How is the abundance of summer showing up in my body and heart?
Oracle Card Guidance
Draw a card with the intention: “What aspect of abundance is calling me in this season?”
Reflect on:
Where am I already abundant?
What feels ripe for harvesting?
How can I share my gifts with others?
Growth is Cyclical
Remember that like the seasons, we peak, harvest, rest, renew, and begin again. There is no rush. Each season has its time. And this is your time to fully be — to revel in your light and receive.
Returning to Balance
Slowly close your eyes and bring your awareness back to your breath. Thank yourself for taking this time. Carry the stillness and strength of the Queen with you into the days ahead.
