My Top Essential Oils for isolation

If you have been following me, you will know that I LOVE essential oils. So when I learnt that my cognition in my Human Design is 'Smell' - my heart smiled!

Where do essential oils come from?

A variety of plants cover the Earth in different shapes, sizes, colours, and scents. Many of these plants contain compounds that typically can’t be seen with the naked eye—they hide within the roots, flowers, seeds, bark, or other areas of the plant. These compounds are known as essential oils.

If you are interested in finding out more information you can go to the Doterra website

I would say that I probably use essential oils most days - it can be for a variety of reasons - Physical ailments, emotional support, productivity, calming and energising/productivity I have used Neals Yard in the past, and still do sometimes, but mostly my go to brand is Doterra. Whilst I do sell them, I am not an active seller. I like people to use their own gut instinct. To be honest if you come away from this learning that essential oils are brilliant for emotional support - then that is great! My main driver is for you to think and see other ways of doing things...

Like so many, my heart sank when I announced to my clients that I will need to temporarily close my clinic! Not only had I worked so hard to create this space, I knew that so many of my clients had also worked super hard too. Straight away, I 'zoomed out' to see the bigger picture and began to look at areas that I could tweak so that I could carry on supporting you all.

Whilst I navigated this rollercoaster of change it was no surprise that I took to using my essential oils even more. I thought I would share with you my top ones and if you have had a Human Design reading with me then you will see that with some oils I have also linked these to areas of my bodygraph.

1. Balance blend

doTERRA’s grounding blend of Spruce Leaf, Ho Wood Leaf, Frankincense Resin, Blue Tansy Flower, Blue Chamomile Flower, and Osmanthus Flower.

I find it literally balances my mood! Especially when my head is filled with lots of information and it feels like it may implode. It also helps you to slow down. As a Manifesting Generator with a defined Solar Plexus it helps me to ride my emotional wave and to slow me down so I can sleep on making those all important decisions.

Its is described as an airy, fresh, sweet, woody aroma.

2. Bergamot

Oil of Self Acceptance

There was so much change to begin with - I found that literally overnight everyone was putting out information & their online courses. There was a lot of fear on social media and on the TV. I suddenly found myself back at the stage of feeling like I SHOULD be doing X and then completing Y. This oil supported me in accepting me for who I am and connecting to my heart and soul. Dropping back into my body and following my inner compass. It has also a calming effect on me.

Its is described as having a citrus, spice, with a light floral note.

3. Cypress

An essential oil to support you in trust, adaptability and flow.

I am working on so many great things in the background and found that Cypress benefited me to stay in focus. As a Manifesting Generator I can literally have 5 different things all happening at the same time. This is true for a Manifesting Generator and in supporting myself so I can continue to trust what I am doing is 'spot on' but to also give me the adaptability as I move between what is lighting me up. I found that it went really well with Bergamot (above) and mixed them together and diffused them.

4. Vetiver

This is a deeply relaxing and grounding oil.

For so many of us, since the outbreak came into our periphery, we have been left feeling unsteady on our feet. We have 7 chakras, with the bottom chakra sitting at our 'Root'. This chakra is where we feel safe. So it was not a surprise that for every Distant Reiki session I have done during self Isolation and also including myself - the root chakra's where completely out of balance. We are in an unknown situation and feeling unsure & unsafe. Vetiver is such a beautiful oil that is very woody and has helped me to come back into my body. It has helped me to feel rooted and therefore I feel safe and secure. I continue to give myself daily self reiki and of course I watch NO news and keep out of negative conversation!

5. Serenity blend

Calming blend of Lavender Flower, Cedarwood, Ho Leaf, Vetiver Root, Sweet Marjoram Leaf, Roman Chamomile Flower, Ylang Ylang Flower, Hawaiian Sandalwood essential oils and Vanilla Bean Absolute.

A great oil that I have been using at night time in my bedroom. I love the smell, but then I love lavender (so if you don't, yes there are people out there who don't, then this is not the oil for you). I feel my emotions and senses are calmed and soothed when I have this in the diffuser.

6. Wild Orange

Oil of Abundance & creativity

Wild Orange has the most intense and 'zingy' aroma to it. I was introduced to Doterra with a drop of Wild Orange and Peppermint on my hand. It was LOVE at first sniff!!

It gives me joy and excitement to go through my day. I have also found that it really gets my energy going. I even used it to give me energy running - BUT it is incredibly sensitive to the sun, so don't put any on your temples (or where the sun will get to it) otherwise you will burn. I completely forgot and I burnt. This goes for ANY citrus oil.

7. Peppermint

Together with Wild Orange - they helps us to respond. As Manifesting Generators we respond to life. Life shows up and we go 'yes please' but sometimes we can be so keen to respond that we end up responding to things that don't actually really excite us. This blend has really helped me to connect to the things that actually light me up and not to those things that I feel I should be doing as I SHOULD be making an income.

Peppermint is also great for headaches!!

8. Onguard blend

As one of doTERRA's most popular oils, doTERRA On Guard is a powerful proprietary blend that supports healthy immune function and contains cleansing properties. It is a blend of Wild Orange Peel, Clove Bud, Cinnamon Leaf, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Leaf, and Rosemary Leaf/Flower essential oils.

This is Christmas in a bottle! Warm and spicy... OK, I know we are in summer in the UK but I do enjoy a spicy aroma.

I have also been fascinated at linking oils to my and also to my clients Human Design charts. It has been really interesting area for me to explore - I am already sharing this information with each foundation reading and mentoring clients. If you are interested to know more, then please do send me a message and if there is enough interest I may do a mini workshop on it.

As always sending you love and please do reach out if you would like to know more.

With love,

Caroline xx

Please note that I use these for my personal use and I am not a trained Aromatherapist. If you have any health conditions or are taking any medication then please do ask your health care provider before you use any of these oils. Whilst Doterra do subscribe to you being able to use some of these oils internally, again speak to your health care provider first. Use your inner guidance whenever you read anything. This content is what works for me and what interests me.
