Fertility Reflexology

Fertility problems affect about 1 in 7 couples in the UK.

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) states that couples who have not been able to get pregnant after 2 years of regular unprotected sexual intercourse are classified as having a fertility problem. However, most doctors currently offer couples initial tests after one year.

For most couples the cause of their fertility problems can be identified but for about 20% of infertile couples, even after the most exhaustive tests, they are given the label of ‘unexplained infertility’ as no obvious cause can be found.
About 30% of couples experiencing difficulty conceiving will have a male factor as the cause.

Further facts & figures are available from the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority (HFEA)

Reflexology can help to balance your body, regulate menstrual cycles, encourage ovulation and get your body in the optimum condition for conception.

The advantage of a reflexology treatment for fertility is that it won’t be treated in isolation. The overall health of the whole person is addressed during the treatment, which means the hormones will be balanced and stress levels will be reduced too. Reducing your stress hormones helps when you are trying for a baby as they can negatively affect your ability to conceive.

I treat each client individually as no two fertility journeys are the same. I offer a non-judgmental and nurturing space for you to talk about your feelings, decisions you are making and the challenges you are facing. I believe that its important to feel supported on your journey, quite often we don’t share it with friends or family which can make us feel like we are doing it on our own, but a friendly knowing ear can make all the difference.

Reflexology is fantastic for balancing hormones, which can help encourage regular menstruation, promote ovulation, and relieve the symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis.
