Chocolate and Peppermint have always been a perfect combination for me. Doterra Peppermint essential oil has an array of health benefits.
I love these bliss balls so much. They are so easy to make and handy to store in your fridge for an energy packed snack.
Primary uses of peppermint essential oil include alertness, cooling, energising, easing headaches, indigestion, muscle fatigue and nausea. It can be used aromatically, topically and, in this case, internally.
I have adapted a recipe from Fearne Cottons’ – Cook Healthy Cook Happy.
I have also substituted the dōTERRA Peppermint Oil with dōTERRA Wild Orange.
160 g Raw unsalted Almonds
3 tbsp Coconut Oil
20 Dried dates, pitted
6 – 8 drops dōTERRA Peppermint Oil (depending on taste)
3 Tbsp Raw Cacao Powder
Plus extra for coating
Place all the ingredients into a the bowl of a food processor and blitz for 1 minute, until it forms a paste that sticks together when you press it between your fingers.
Roll small amounts between your hands and place onto a plate. You can scatter some Cacao powder over the balls and roll them around so that they are all coated.
I would store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week, or you can freeze then for a month.
